A challenging year.
Two inter-related events have dominated 2022: rising energy costs and the war in Ukraine. The associated Inflation, labour and parts shortages are all issues the majority of businesses have been grappling with. The general consensus is that these pressures are going to continue for a while longer.
Reasons to be positive...
This challenging backdrop and COP27 set the scene for this year's superb Cold Chain Federation Energy Week. Held virtually, the Week took the form of three, hour-long Webinars.
The Energy Market and Impacts on the Cold Chain discussed the impacts of the energy crisis on the industries that Blue Cube serve into.
Transforming The Energy System...discussed the rising opportunities from renewables, with a number of useful tips for us to take on board.
Finally, the Energy Benchmarking Tool For Cold Storage completed the week on a high. Continuing to work with leading consultants Jacobs, this new benchmarking tool is likely to become an integral part of many businesses. Furthermore, the industry can look forward to two new events in March. The Climate Summit and Sustainability Awards.
Overall, the Cold Chain Federation's Energy Week provided us all with plenty of grounds for optimism, an optimism Blue Cube embrace.
Why not catch up on all three seminars? They are available on the Cold Chain Federation's website.
Blue Cube is here to help.
Our successful, official launch of the super energy efficient range of Smart Hybrid Blast units and Ultra Holding Stores has also been timely. We know these units can help Cold Chain members become more sustainable.
Being able to prove the increases in production capacity and the reductions to customers' energy costs has helped. Additionally, it has helped even more that the data to prove this has been provided by our customers. No date came from unrealistic "lab" conditions. They are from the real world. Accordingly, the Blue Cube team continue to work with all customers to further optimise the performance. We are here to help, so please drop us a line.
